 Recommended use

Helps in the development and maintenance of bones and teeth. Calcium intake, when combined with sufficient vitamin D, a healthy diet, and regular exercise, may reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis.

 

Recommended dose (adults)

Take 1 capsule twice daily with food.

 

Cautions and contraindications

None known.

 

Drug interactions

Calcium can change the way other medicines work if you take them at the same time. If you need to use other medicines, take them at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after you take your calcium supplement. Calcium supplementation should not be taken with verapamil (an anti-arrhythmic agent) to prevent possible excessive blood pressure-lowering effects caused by verapamil. Calcium interacts with tetracycline antibiotics, rendering them inactive. These should not be taken at the same time.
